About
Scott McGovern is a lifelong traveler and adventurer with a passion for capturing unique perspectives around the world through his photography. Many of Scott’s photos document extremely remote places with little or no human impact. His curiosity and love for the natural world is clearly depicted in these photos of untouched wilderness, but his talent is not limited to natural surroundings. In his photos you will also see intimate human stories as he explores the relationship between people, culture, and the environment.
Scott is a retired educator and coach living in Peterborough, NH. He continues to be heavily involved in the community through tutoring, working with youth at a nearby teen center, serving on the board of a local homeless shelter he helped found more than 30 years ago, and serving on a committee to help establish a fair and inclusive policy concerning transgender Nordic ski athletes competing in New England. In his spare time outside of these activities, Scott can be found photographing, biking, hiking, paddling, skiing, and planning his next adventures and travels with his wife of over 40 years, Peggy Brown.
